Power Reps |
Welcome to Power Reps. This is a group formed for those who want to be involved with overall power, speed, endurance for both the upper and lower body. It has been catching on with greater intensity with a company called PowerX who has developed competitions with their design using these three disciplines: Power Clean, Bench Press, and Deadlift where each competitor performs their lift activity only once for 20 reps or 3 minutes, which ever comes first.
You may find many other forms of this competition involving also Squats, Kettlebells, and more. The main concept of this group is to develop a competition that deals with power, endurance, speed, and strength in order for the ultimate fit person in that competition.
The differences with this group from Power Lifting is that it adds endurance and reps to the equation.
Differences to Cross Fit is that it is established with more power from weighted objects vs. body weight exercises.
Strongman is slightly different due to the fact that all exercises with Power reps deal with max power and max reps using typical weights and equipment.
